Giving
“Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not regretfully or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians 9.7
These words of St Paul to the Corinthians remind us all that we have, our talents, our resources, our life, are all gifts from God. Christian stewardship comes from the heart - in thanksgiving to God for all that we have and all that God promises to the world. As Christians, we support the work of the Church so that the Gospel message can continue to be shared. We contribute to God’s work in the world and through St Columba’s, not only by giving our time and talents through the ministries of St Columba’s, but also by prayerfully making a financial commitment to the parish. When we give of our heart, our gifts are cheerful and sacrificial, as we join the work of God to transform the world in love.
The Biblical standard for giving is the tithe, or 10% of our income. However it is up to each of us individually to decide how much the Gospel message and the work of St Columba’s means and then cheerfully give according to what our hearts decide.
You can make give contribution in person during Mass on Sunday mornings, mail your donation either through your bank’s bill-pay system or mailing your check to the parish office, or using one of the online methods for making your contribution. Annual Pledge Drive
Pledges are the lifeline of the parish. Making a financial commitment helps ensure that we can meet our monthly financial commitments and fund the ministries of the parish, continue our ministry priorities to youth and teenagers and serving those in need in our community, and further strengthen the worship and music ministries that are the true backbone of the parish. Every pledge helps us fulfill the calling God has placed in our hands and be witnesses for hope, grace, and unconditional love to each other and to the community around us. We invite you to join in the support of the parish and make an annual pledge: we need your support.
