EYC Schedule (2024)

Our EYC program kicks off just after Labor Day on Rally Sunday. EYC will meet at most Sundays of the school year from 5.00-7.00 pm for dinner and program. Below is our calendar for the Fall semester. In addition to our regular program, youth will have opportunities to participate in diocesan youth events.

  • Blessing of Animals: 6 October, 5 pm. Our annual blessing of animals service for the Feast of St Francis will be a youth-led service. Youth should arrive by 4.30 for set-up. We’ll wrap up by 6pm.

  • EYC Pot-Luck: 13th October, 5-7 pm. We’ll gather on Sunday, 13 October for a Pot-Luck dinner and program on Creation. “Imago Dei” will be our theme for the Fall. Teaser… Spiderman 2 and sculpting clay will be components of the evening!

  • EYC Cooks: 20th October, 5-7pm. EYC will gather in the kitchen and cook their own meal. Then our program will continue with our theme of Imago Dei, exploring deeper what it means to be created in the image of God.

  • Fall Festival, 26th October, 5 - 9pm. We’ll gather on Saturday, 26 October instead of Sunday this weekend. The festival will games, bounce house, chili, brats and more. We’ll end with an outdoor movie night. EYC will not meet on Sunday, 27th October.

  • Happening (at Camp Mikell): 18th-20th October. Happening is a retreat for high school youth (grades 9-12) and takes place at Camp Mikell in Toccoa, GA. It is an amazing experience that is lead by teenagers and helps high school youth grow in their relationship with God as well as live out their faith in their lives. High school teenagers can participate as a ‘candidate’ their first time. After their first Happening retreat, they are able to go back as part of the leadership team. Application deadlines apply for this program, and there are separate deadlines for both leadership team and participants. More details can be found on the diocesan youth website (eycdioatl.org) … scroll below the events calendar for full details about the weekend.

  • EYC Saints & Pizza: 3rd November, 5-7pm. We’ll gather for a pizza dinner and program about All Saints. We’ll also watch a few clips of the installation of our new Presiding Bishop, Sean Rowe.

  • No EYC on 11/10 (due to Annual Diocesan Council).

  • New Beginnings (at Camp Mikell): 15-17th November. New Beginnings is a renewal retreat for youth in grades 6-8, and high school youth are invited to participate on the leadership team. New Beginnings is a weekend retreat that explores friendships, family, and faith, with the goal of helping participants grow in their love of themselves, others and our Lord Jesus Christ. During the weekend, participants meet peers from across the diocese, enjoy skits, listen to talks, and participate in small group activities and discussions. Application deadlines apply for this program, and there are separate deadlines for both leadership team and participants. More details can be found on the diocesan youth website (eycdioatl.org) … scroll below the events calendar for full details about the weekend.

  • EYC Thanksgiving: 17th November, 5-7pm. We’ll have our annual thanksgiving celebration (see sign-up genius link in the Parish Post to sign up to bring something for our shared meal). The program will focus on thankfulness for blessings from God and our response to be blessings in the world.

  • No EYC 11/24 - Thanksgiving School break

  • No EYC on 12/1 - Sunday morning will be our “Kirkin’ of the Tarans,” so we will not meet Sunday evening.

  • EYC Advent Adventure: 8th December, 5-7pm. We’ll gather for an outdoor service of light as we enter into Advent’s season of watching and waiting for the coming of Christ. We’ll start with dinner at 5pm, then move outside for our Advent program.

  • EYC Christmas Party: 15th December, 5-7pm. Stay tuned for details on our annual Christmas party and white elephant gift exchange. We’ll meet near the church at an EYC member’s home. This will be our last regular EYC meeting until after the winter break.
